  • Tooth Suds Bar Soap — it’s clean, fresh, and tastes great!

It’s a running joke around here that we all wish our moms would wash our mouth out with this soap. It’s an all-natural soap with a pleasantly light taste. Tooth suds allows your body to work as nature intended by balancing the PH of our mouth. This lets your saliva naturally remineralize your teeth.

My teeth feel very clean. I like that there is no foam like regular toothpaste.

It's a really good product, way more effective than toothpaste. I had wanted to be totally in love it's just not quite as effective as another we've tried in the past which was discontinued. However my sons had recently gone back to using toothpaste while I searched for an alternative and it was bad. Never getting their teeth clean enough. But since switching to this bar my husband commented how much better my sons' teeth are.

Same thoughts as the comments above.

Wondering how to brush your teeth with soap?

Tooth Suds is soap. Soap that you can use on your teeth! It doesn’t taste like the soap mom washes out your mouth with, it has a very light flavor that many prefer to traditional toothpaste. To use:

    1. Just scrub a wet toothbrush on the bar of Tooth Suds
    2. Brush your teeth!
    3. Spit and rinse well (careful not to swallow, because, well it’s soap).
    4. Allow the bar to dry between uses to prolong the life of the tooth suds soap bar. We recommend a wooden soap dish for storing soap between uses.

p.s. It’s OK to wash your hands with it too!

I bought the charcoal tooth wash. I love it. I have sensitive teeth and gums and the product really seems to help. It is also a great cleanser for hair and body wash as well.

Better than expected, suds up nice, tastes fine, and rinses clean.

A natural toothpaste alternative made with natural ingredients.

Tooth Suds is made with olive oil, aloe vera, and essential oils. We even have a charcoal bar that uses the same great formula as our original Tooth Suds, enhanced with activated charcoal and tea tree essential oil.

    • Olive oil soap is the most gentle cleansing of all soaps and helps balance the PH of your mouth.
    • Aloe Vera to nourish your gums.
    • Essential oils for a very light “taste” and nourishment.
    • Activated Charcoal to whiten and brighten.

Fluoride Free. SLS Free. (and no added glycerine).

Traditional toothpaste requires multiple rinses to wash it all the way off which is also why you have that taste in your mouth after brushing with traditional toothpaste.  Tooth Suds rinse off easily, leaves your mouth clean and fresh, and allow your body to do its natural work at keeping your teeth healthy.

Yes, you can! Here’s why we brush our teeth with Tooth Suds:

Promoting remineralization with an alkaline PH: In an acidic environment, teeth begin to demineralize, which puts them at risk for cavities. In a more alkaline environment (like that of Tooth Suds), teeth can become stronger and remineralize!

Naturally clean teeth with no added sweeteners, no added glycerin: A clean mouth is a key to good oral hygiene. Soap is a great cleaner, and Tooth Suds is formulated to clean teeth without tasting like soap. With no added glycerine or sweeteners there’s no residue left after you finish brushing. And, our charcoal bar also helps reduce staining from our beloved sips of coffee and tea.

No more goopy toothpaste tubes, messy powders, or fiddly shreds: Since it’s a solid bar, you don’t need a plastic container to hold it, it travels well, doesn’t spill like tooth powders or shreds, and (while it’s a fun childhood memory for some) you can’t squeeze it all over the bathroom sink.

Once you get your first bar, you’ll soon be doing a happy dance every time you brush.

#repost @compostcolorado 🦷ZERO WASTE ORAL CARE 🦷 ⁣⁣Oral care is extremely important but also tends to be incredibly wasteful. Did you know that an estimated 400 MILLION tooth paste tubes and ONE BILLION plastic tooth brushes end up in U.S. landfills EVERY YEAR. That’s a lot of trash that will sit in the landfill for thousands of years, or worse – make its way into our waterways and oceans where marine life will mistake it for food. That’s not even mentioning the amount of fossil fuels it takes to create all these materials. ⁣⁣Luckily, we have options. CoCo Joey here to share my #zerowaste oral care routine 🙂⁣⁣🦷 Tooth Suds by @shopalogoods – This soap for your teeth is made with all natural ingredients right here in Denver, CO. Not only have I eliminated the waste of the tooth paste tube, but buying local means less energy used in shipping and a smaller footprint. ⁣⁣🦷 Toothbrush by @preserveproducts – Bamboo toothbrushes just aren’t for me. Luckily, I’ve found these toothbrushes made from 100% recycled #5 plastics. The best part is that you can send your old toothbrushes back to Preserve to be recycled again! Bonus points – you can send all your #5 plastics (yogurt containers, pill bottles, etc) to Preserve for recycling. ⁣⁣🦷 Refillable Dental Floss – not pictured, but I typically use a bamboo floss that is 100% compostable and comes in a refillable glass bottle that I can find at the nearest zero waste refill shop.⁣⁣There you have it. A #lowimpact oral care routine that avoids landfills entirely and makes for squeaky clean smile 😁

Each bar will last for about 3 months with one person using it 3 times a day if kept dry between uses. We recommend using a wooden soap dish to keep your bar dry between uses.

No, there is no lye in our soap. However, all true soap is made through the saponification of oils with lye—either sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. Once saponified none of the lye remains, and the oils are turned into soap. You can read more how soap is made, cured, and cared for in these articles:

Alō products are made in a private kitchen, with clean and sterile equipment and quality ingredients. In fact, many of the ingredients are food grade…but please don’t eat your soap or body butter!

Like traditional toothpaste, kids can use Tooth Suds too. You’ll still want to supervise them (kids do the darndest things after all).

    • Make sure they don’t eat the soap or swallow the lather (which they’re less likely do to than with toothpaste since there are no added sweeteners)
    • Make sure they brush their entire mouth, including their tongue
    • And, teach them to brush at least twice a day for two minutes each time.
    • Also remember to replace their toothbrush approximately every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed.

Yes, this is a bar of soap, formulated for washing your mouth and teeth. It’s a very gentle formula that makes a wonderful facial bar too.
Oh, and did we mention that it’s a great travel companion? No TSA liquid limits, nothing to spill, and nothing to goop out of tube an onto your clothing!

    Alo Sustainable Packaging
We’re proud to say that, 99.9% of our packaging is plastic-free. Currently, the only plastic in any of our product packaging is the lids for our glass jar.

Our soaps are packaged in organic cotton bags (made in the USA). You can reuse them as tea bags (please wash them first though!), or soap sacks. To use as a soap sack, place the small ends of soap bars into the sack until you have a small stash. Then, wash with the soap sack as a washcloth. They also make great garden soap sacks (just hang from the spigot).

Tooth suds, conditioner bars, facial powers, shower steamer 2 tablets, and sample bars are packaged in glassine bags which are 100% recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable.

Our labels are printed on recycled label stock.

Herbal salves are packaged in a reusable and recyclable metal tin… and they’re made in the USA.

Our hair tea is packaged in biodegradable cello bags made from wood cellulose fibers sourced with sustainable forestry principles, certified biodegradable, compostable and made carbon zero. Each bag meets ASTM D6400, EN13432 standards for CA and other states.

Our soapbox boxes are made from 100% recycled content, are 100% recyclable, and are made in the USA!

We ship with sustainable materials too! Smaller orders are shipped in sustainable paper padded envelopes (made from recycled materials, recyclable & naturally biodegradable). Larger orders ship in USPS flat rate packages that meet Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification standards. And, they are fully recyclable (including the padded shipping mailers which are made from #4 recyclable plastic).

Let’s start with what is DOESN’T taste like — washing out mouth out with soap. That’s right, it doesn’t taste like soap. About 1% of our customers report that they have a slight “soapy” taste the first few times they try it, but they don’t notice it after using it for a few brushes.

Tooth Suds are not “flavored” with artificial flavors, but they do contain essential oils (at safe dermal usage rates), giving them a mild flavor.

    • The original bar includes sweet orange and peppermint essential oils.
    • The Ebony bar includes tea tree essential oil.

First, we recommend that you sample Tooth Suds with a travel bar. You’ll be able to try it for 2-3 weeks to see if it’s right for you.

Tooth Suds is a bar of soap. This means you can use it to wash your skin (or hair) too! If you don’t like brushing with it, enjoy a super silky and gentle wash with the bar. (We use it as our go-to travel bar… one bar to pack for all of our washing needs on the go!)

For safety and hygiene reason we cannot accept returns for our all-natural skincare products. However, if something doesn’t seem right when you receive your order, please let us know right away. Your satisfaction is incredibly important to us, and we truly believe that you’ll love our products.

The toothpaste bar it not working for me. I have used it for a week now and my teeth have become so sensitive that I have went back to the bronners toothpaste. I was hopeful in getting away from the waste of the tubes. Love the concept of the bar though
