A calendula salve to nourish dry irritated skin.

Originally formulated to help reduce the effects of “dishpan hands” for our founder, Kandra, MITI has been formulated to be a go-to salve for nourishing the skin all over… including tattoo aftercare.

To use, simply apply in as needed on the affected area.

All of our salves are formulated to melt when applied and feel firmer than traditional “creams”. In cooler climates, use the back of your fingernail to remove the salve from the tin.

Our salve formula uses light oils that readily absorb into the skin, shea butter for nourishment, and a light addition of beeswax for stability. You’ll find all of our salves to be silky soft and readily absorbable.

MITI Calendula Herbal Salve Herb Contains:

  • Calendula Petals – soothes dry  irritated skin
  • Chamomile – antioxidant-rich and benefits minor skin abrasions. Helps restore skins natural moisture content.
  • Echinacea – rich in tannins; helps promote skin hydration
  • Marshmallow Root – to rejuvenate the skin barrier
  • Tea Tree and Lavender Essential Oils

Herbal Salves

Some herbal salves are intended to be applied lightly, while others are best when applied liberally and massaged in to allow the herbal components to nourish deep down.

All salves are composed of herbs and should be used with respect. Do not apply hot herbs (such as cayenne) to open wounds, and do not use any salve which contains an allergen.

Herbal salves should be stored in a cool environment (leaving them in a hot car is not recommended) to extend their potency, consistency, and shelf life.

Products labeled with a melt warning are designed to melt around body temperature. Especially in the summer months or in hot climates, these products can melt in transit.

If these products arrive melted, we won’t be able to replace or refund them. We highly recommend that you select USPS Priority Mail for shipping. Priority mail packages are insured, and your package will arrive in 2-3 days. This minimizes the time in transit (less exposure to heat) and the insurance provides some purchase protection on your order.

If melting does happen, you can simply pop the product into the fridge to solidify and it will still be usable (though may not look as pretty!). In fact, we highly recommend that you put your products into the refrigerator or freezer prior to opening. This will help ensure that your products are solid, and will avoid spilling the melted product upon opening.

If your product was whipped, see our how to restore whipped body butter post.

Once meltable products arrive, keep in a cool spot away from direct sunlight.

Our soaps are packaged in organic cotton bags (made in the USA). You can reuse them as tea bags (please wash them first though!), or soap sacks. To use as a soap sack, place the small ends of soap bars into the sack until you have a small stash. Then, wash with the soap sack as a washcloth. They also make great garden soap sacks (just hang from the spigot).

Tooth suds, conditioner bars, facial powers, shower steamer 2 tablets, and travel bars are packaged in glassine bags. Glassine is a smooth and glossy paper that’s made air, water, and grease resistant through a process called supercalendering.  They are not waxed or chemically-finished during manufacturing and are fully recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable.

Our labels are printed on recycled label stock.

Herbal salves are packaged in a reusable and recyclable metal tin… and they’re made in the USA.

Our hair tea is packaged in biodegradable cello bags made from wood cellulose fibers sourced with sustainable forestry principles, certified biodegradable, compostable and made carbon zero. Each bag meets ASTM D6400, EN13432 standards for CA and other states.

Our soapbox boxes are made from 100% recycled content, are 100% recyclable, and are made in the USA!

We ship with sustainable materials too! Smaller orders are shipped in sustainable paper padded envelopes (made from recycled materials, recyclable & naturally biodegradable). Larger orders ship in USPS flat rate packages that meet Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification standards. And, they are fully recyclable (including the padded shipping mailers which are made from #4 recyclable plastic).

Alo Sustainable Packaging
We’re proud to say that, 99.9% of our packaging is plastic-free. Currently, the only plastic in any of our product packaging is the lids for our glass jar.

A little goes a long way.

  2. Rebecca Chevrel (verified owner)

This smelled too strongly of tea tree oil for me to use daily. I will save it for bug repellent in the summer though! The texture is wonderful.

  3. Christina C. (store manager)

Miti Herbal Salve saved my hands from over washing. One of my young children came down with a very bad stomach virus. I was washing my hands every 15-20 minutes for the first 12 hours. After each hand wash, I applied Miti Herbal Salve and crawled back into bed. My hands did not dry out!

  4. Shannon G. (verified owner)

I get a heat rash in the inside of my elbows when I wear long sleeve shirts/jackets too long. This has helped keep it at bay. Love it!
